Dump truck crash kills driver on Hawaii island

A man was killed today when the dump truck he was operating ran off Kaiminani Drive in Kona, flipped and hit three cars and a utility pole.

The man, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. Police closed the road for several hours for investigation and clearing.

No other injuries were reported.
