President golfs with Hawaii friends before flying to D.C.

LAST UPDATED: 06:24 a.m. HST, Jun 10, 2013

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. >> President Barack Obama squeezed in a morning round with old friends from Hawaii on a Southern California golf course.

The White House says the president played the nine-hole course at the Sunnylands estate in Rancho Mirage Sunday with Mike Ramos and Bobby Titcomb, childhood friends from Hawaii, where Obama grew up. White House aide Marvin Nicholson completed the group.

Obama also played the course on Saturday with Ramos, Titcomb, and Greg Orme, another Punahou classmate.

Obama arrived at the estate once owned by billionaire philanthropist Walter Annenberg on Friday for a summit with China's president.

Those talks wrapped up on Saturday, and Obama stayed at Sunnylands through the weekend.

If I were the President I would avoid the scandals in the White House as long as I could also. What was that about Rome and fiddling???

Since you are not nor ever will be the President of the USA, you have no idea where or why any scandals could possibly surface and nor does he. So lets be serious, "Serious", skip the nonsense kind talk.

Obama flew AF ONE 176 times last year and he is about to break that record this year. My point is , who's watching the shop? Who's making the decisions? No, I will never be President--but to accept that job means to accept the responsibilities of the job, not just putting more people on welfare rather than getting them real jobs and splitting the haves and have-nots every occasion he has. Now, let's see the vacation plans for the Obama clan. HS must be tough, let's see done Spain and Mexico and Cape Cod, Hawaii with two planes is in December--decisions, decisions!!!

It has already been proven that Pres. Bush took more vacation while he was in office in the same time frame as Obama. So lighten up. Just because you don't like him, what's wrong with squeezing a round of golf?

If I were the President of the USA and possessed his athletic abilities, I would be on the golf course more often than not to relieve some of the tensions that comes with running country of over 300 million people. In fact, at every opportunity, especially after one of those elongated public media speeches, I would hurry off to the white house basketball court and shoot those 10-20 foot jump shots, just to clear my head of the wave of questions posed by the news media people.

Loved to golf, so can't blame him to get a few rounds in, know the feeling. Of course, due back pains have not played for over 4 years so, being down dirty jealous, why is he wasting time with all the scandals besetting his Administration?
