Gusty trade winds are dying down, but high surf and small craft advisories remain in effect. Forecasters also say the trades are blowing in scattered showers, which are expected to linger through Friday.

Most of the showers are expected in windward and mauka areas, but some may be blown over the mountains into leeward areas.

Moderate trades are expected through the weekend.

The forecast for Honolulu calls for partly cloudy skies tonight with the chance of rain.

Winds of 15-to-25 mph are expected to east to 10-to-20 mph Friday night and 10-to-15 mph over the weekend.

A wind advisory for parts of the Hawaii island, Haleakala and Honolulu was lifted this afternoon.

But a high surf advisory for east shores of all islands continues with waves of 6-to-8-feet expected through 6 p.m. Friday.

A small craft advisory also remains in effect for most Hawaiian waters.
