Kauai police are asking the public for information on an alleged altercation and theft that occurred at Polihale State Park over the weekend.

About 3:30 a.m. Sunday, police dispatch received an anonymous call of an assault at the park. Officers responded and found no evidence of an altercation or theft, according to a news release from the Kauai Police Department.

Police Chief Darryl Perry said police don’t have a case unless witnesses or victims come forward.

Megan Wong of Kilauea told The Garden Island that her brother was part of a group of 15 who were attacked. They were playing music when about 30 men showed up and told them to leave. Wong told the newspaper that they also stole camping gear from the victims and bashed cars with baseball bats. Her brother and others in the group suffered injuries in the altercation.

A young women recorded a clip of the fight, according to The Garden Island.

Anyone with information on the altercation is urged to call police at 241-1711 or CrimeStoppers at 241-1887.
