Nighttime construction to install new water service connections will close one lane in each direction on Ward Avenue from Kapiolani Boulevard to South King Street Wednesday to Friday.

The Board of Water Supply advises motorists to use alternate routes. Drivers traveling through the construction area are asked to abide by the posted traffic signs and to allow for additional travel time.

The work by a Board Water Supply contractor is being scheduled during non-peak water use times 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. each day.

This construction activity is part of the ongoing water system improvement project on Ward Avenue from Kinau Street to Kapiolani Boulevard. When completed, this project will enhance water service to area residents and businesses by improving fire protection and reducing the likelihood of water main breaks.

Questions and comments may be directed to the BWS construction manager at 542-7424, the BWS Construction Section at 748-5730, or the BWS Communications Office at 748-5041.
