Hawaii-based RevoluSun has expanded to New York, today announcing the opening of its office in Nyack.
The third RevoluSun franchise represents the company’s fifth office in three states and will primarily serve customers in Rockland, Westchester and Orange counties. Initial plans call for the hiring of 15 sales, marketing and operations support employees.
Data released by the City College of New York (CUNY) shows that New York had 14 megawatts of installed rooftop solar photovoltaics, an increase of 5.5 megawatts from 2011, indicating a growth market, the company said.
Electricity rates in New York City are well above the national average, and homeowners can benefit from a utility rebate of up to $9,800 in New York State and up to $16,000 on Long Island, as well as a personal tax credit of up to $5,000. When coupled with the federal tax credit of 30 percent, a rooftop solar PV system in New York will pay for itself within six to eight years, RevoluSun said, in a statement.
