Los Lobos will perform on four major Hawaiian islands in November.

The band is marking its 40th anniversary of fusing American rock and roll, blues and rhythm and blues, with traditional Mexican folk and traditional Spanish music, with the October 29 release of a new CD titled “Disconnected in New York City.” The tour will support the recording and it will be the first time since 2010 that the group has performed in Hawaii.

The Hawaii tour dates and concert venues, as announced, are Nov. 21 at Hawaiian Brian’s in Honolulu; Nov. 22 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului; Nov. 23 at the Honokaa People’s Theatre on Hawaii island and Nov. 24 at Kauai Beach Resort in Lihue.

The band formed in 1973 in East Los Angeles but it wasn’t until the 1980s when its recording of “La Bamba” for a movie soundtrack catapulted Los Lobos to mainstream success.

Ticket availability is not yet listed at Ticketmaster.com.
