A 50-year-old Kahului woman and a 48-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday in a two-car head-on crash on Piilani HIghway north of Keonekai Road near Wailea.

She was a passenger in a Honda Civic driven by a 64-year-old woman, who also was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center.

The collision occurred about 4:25 p.m. when the Civic, traveling north on Piilani Highway, crossed left of centerline and collided head on with a Toyota Corolla traveling south.

The Toyota’s driver, a Kahului man, also was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
