A suspicious check led to the arrest of a 46-year-old Waianae man Monday.

According to police, the suspect attempted to use a forged and counterfeit check at a Kapolei business. The clerk who received the check thought it looked suspicious and called police.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of forgery and attempted theft. The suspect also faces counts of promoting a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a search of his person following the initial arrest.
