All interactions between living beings involve negotiations, whether confrontational or not. Hence we think of the Deedy case. For instance we have all fought with our siblings and our parents. However those types of familial interactions do not cause permanent division between family members unless the relationship is not repairable. Hence we do not know the details of this encounter, however it seems that for one person to get so upset with another that one has to resort to dangerous assault as a part or the confrontation indicates a very agitated state of relationship between the two in this story. Hence for Christopher Deedy: WHAT WAS SO IMPORTANT ABOUT THE ENCOUNTER WITH KOLLIN THAT KOLLIN NEEDED TO DIE. OMG SMH.

As far as why you had to bring up an entirely differnet scope of events is beyond me, but you are correct in the sense that reaction, interaction, and the consequences that be are parlayed into the results we see everyday. Peace to all!
