MIAMI >> Tropical Storm Kiko is swirling in the eastern Pacific, but forecasters say the system is expected to weaken.

The storm is not a threat to Hawaii and there are no watches and warnings in effect for Mexico or California.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said today that Kiko was centered about 380 miles  west-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula. It had maximum sustained winds of 70 mph and was moving north at 7 mph.

The hurricane center says weakening is forecast to begin later today and continue through Monday.
