A 46-year-old Pearl City man who allegedly tried stealing items from a parked car at a Pearl City area business Wednesday was stopped by a woman in the back seat.

Police said the man allegedly entered the car about 3 p.m. and tried to steal items from inside when the woman confronted him.

The man walked away without taking anything, and the break-in was reported to police.

Responding officers found the suspect nearby at Kamehameha Highway and McGrew Loop and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
