Crews airlift injured California woman from Kauai's Kalalau Trail

Kauai fire rescue personnel assisted a 59-year-old woman from California who injured her ankle while hiking along the Kalalau Trail.

Responding to the 1:46 p.m. emergency call, firefighters located the woman about 150 feet from Hanakapiai Beach and airlifted her Princeville Airport, where she was transferred to the care of waiting paramedics.

Moral: 58 year old woman should not be gallavanting on the rugged Kalalau Trail. This trail is not for sissies or like a jogging trail in California, but for serious hikers.
