Despite a 20-5 advantage in shots, Hawaii could not find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss to Portland State to cap off the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Soccer Classic at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

It snapped a three-match winning streak for the Rainbow Wahine and was the third home loss of the season for UH (3-3), which fell only once at WPSS in 2012.

The Vikings (3-4) got goals in the 25th and 69th minutes.

Florida Gulf Coast won the tournament title with wins over PSU (1-0) and Idaho State (5-1).

We may have shot 20 times but how many shots did our best finisher (T Fujimoto) take? Zero. This is similar to the result of the first two games. We have to find a way to get her the ball in her range instead of others taking 30-yard prayers hoping for the perfect strike or a keeper mistake. For the season, Tiana took 11 shots and scored 4 goals. That's a 36% shot-goal ratio. In comparison, the rest of the team shot 89 times and scored 2 goals. That's a 2% shot-goal ratio. Hate to say it but this indicates Tiana's chances are being "used up" by players who have no business shooting. IMHO we've done a great job getting to the final third but, at that point, only a couple of players should be taking shots.
