Police release information about body found in Waipio area

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a man whose body was found on Sunday on Mililani Cemetery Road near Ka Uka Boulevard.
Police have opened a murder investigation surrounding a reportedly severed body found at about 4:40 p.m. in a ravine near Mililani Memorial Park Road in Waipio by a couple collecting cans. According to a Hawaii News Now report (KHNL), Joseph and Sheer Sotelo spotted a garbage bag and other items down the side of a cliff. When Joseph Sotelo moved closer to the items, he reportedly saw a "top half" of a severed body.
Homicide detectives are at the Waipio crime scene today. Crimestoppers describes the victim as a large-build man with tattoos, including: a cross on a calf; "evil," "pain" and "hatered" written in an band around a wrist; and a design on an upper arm.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public's assistance in locating any witnesses or any additional information about the victim. According to a news release issued by CrimeStoppers, the body may have been at the crime scene since Thursday.
