Horizon Air and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters have announced a tentative agreement on a proposed five-year contract extension.

The deal covers 280 aircraft technicians, fleet service agents and other employees in fleet support positions.

The proposal provides wage increases and so-called quality-of-life enhancements for technicians and fleet support employees and will be voted on by union members in late October.

If ratified the contract will take effect in early November, and will become amendable in December of 2019.

Collective bargaining agreements in the airline industry do not expire, but rather become amendable under terms of the Railway Labor Act.
