Power restored to about 2,000 customers in Makiki

About 2,000 customers were without electricity for about 40 minutes in lower Makiki this morning.

The power outage was reported at 8:05 a.m. and restored by 8:42 a.m., a Hawaiian Electric Co. official said.

The outage was caused by a painting crew that inadvertently damaged HECO's equipment.
