Car catches fire on westbound shoulder of H-1 freeway

Honolulu firefighter extinguished a car fire Sunday that sent plumes black smoke above the H-1 freeway in Aiea.

The fire was first reported around 2:45 p.m. along the shoulder of the westbound lanes.

Police closed one lane of traffic while the fire was brought under control.

No injuries were reported.
