Cloudy skies and rain expected through Friday

By Star-Advertiser staff

LAST UPDATED: 05:00 a.m. HST, Oct 07, 2013

It could be a soggy week ahead starting on Oahu and Kauai moving over the rest of the islands this week, National Weather Service forecasters predict.

A weather system moving over the islands from the northwest brought increased showers over windward areas of the islands on Sunday, with isolated thunderstorms and locally heavy showers possible over Kauai and Oahu through tonight.

The forecast for Honolulu calls for cloudy skies and a 50 percent chance of rain today. Some of those showers may develop into thunderstorms through early Tuesday.

Winds may also change, becoming southeasterly or variable.

The cloudy skies and chance of scattered showers are expected to continue through Saturday.

Another thing got to slow down if driving in wet weather. I just was making a left turn into a parking lot and this moped came within 10 feet of colliding with me. We both stopped and I let him go first. The City or State needs to regulate mopeds more, such as requiring a moped license to operate. The roads are dangerous. Moped Operators need to know the rules of the road as much if not more than motor vehicle operators.

What a perfect job being a meteorologist. 50% chance of rain, you are right no matter what happens. I bet their accurate forecast average is less than a major league batter's average.
