A hungry theft suspect dropped a debit card, which led to his arrest at a Waipahu restaurant, police said Wednesday on the Honolulupd.org website.

Police said the suspect, a 36-year-old man, purchased items at a store in Waipahu with a stolen debit card and then got something to eat at a restaurant in the store.

But the man dropped the debit card as he was leaving.

An alert employee picked it up, noticed that the photo on the card did not match the suspect and called police.

Officers arrested the suspect at about 2 a.m. Sunday.
