State lawmakers will take up new contracts for public workers and emergency money for public hospitals on Kauai in addition to gay marriage during a special session.

Gov. Neil Abercrombie made the request for lawmakers to hear the other bills today while also notifying the Legislature about a revised gay marriage bill.

The state Senate will take the lead on the gay marriage bill, with a public hearing Monday morning before the Senate Judiciary and Labor Committee.

The state House will take the lead on the public worker contracts and the emergency funding for public hospitals on Kauai.

Here we go! Start stuffing the special session with various unrelated bills/proposals so that public input is minimized and the political hacks can rush through the passage of favored items. Is it any wonder why politicians are so distrusted and hated?
