The Hawaii Tobacco Quitline has added online coaching service to the free nicotine patches and gum presently offered to help smokers and other tobacco users quit.
The nonprofit’s web-based service includes customizable quitting plans without calls from a Quit Coach, according to a statement.
Enrollment is confidential via www.ClearTheSmoke.org, though services will continue to be offered through the toll-free phone line at 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
Both services are available 24 hours a day.
“With the University of Hawaii at Manoa and more beaches and parks going smoke-free next year, we believe this service will inspire people to quit,” said Lola Irvin, project manager, in a statement.
