Moped crash sends man to hospital in critical condition

A 25-year-old man suffered critical injuries in a moped crash in Kailua just after 1 a.m. Saturday.

Paramedics took the man to the hospital in critical condition after the moped he was on hit a pole at Oneawa and Ulupaina streets, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.

Police closed Oneawa Street between Punaa and Ulupaina streets while they investigated the crash.

I hope he recovers completely. When he does recover, I hope he does not throw caution into the wind, rather he will drive his moped cautiously and defensively in order to lower the probability of getting into another accident like running into a pole at 1:00 am in the morning.
