An alert witness helped police catch a suspected thief early Sunday morning in the Kapiolani area.
A 34-year-old man told police he saw a 35-year-old man break into a vehicle around 3:20 a.m. in the Kapiolani area, police said.
Police located the man about an hour later and found property on him that he had allegedly stolen from the car, police said.
The witness identified the suspect and officers arrested him on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
