UH’s Hartong named Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award finalist

Hawaii senior All-American Emily Hartong was one of 10 finalists for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award in volleyball, it was announced today. 

The Rainbow Wahine outside hitter was joined by Jennifer Cross, Michigan; Natalie Hagglund, USC; Caroline Jarmoc, Kansas; and Chloe Mann, Florida. Also, Ashley Potts, Western Kentucky; Ariel Scott, Penn State; Bailey Webster, Texas; Lauren Wicinski, Michigan; and Carly Wopat, Stanford. Hawaii’s Kanani Danielson was the inaugural winner for volleyball in 2011.

The finalists were chosen by a media committee from a list of 30 announced in August. Nationwide fan voting begins today and runs through Dec. 9 to help select the winner.

CLASS is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School.
