Senior hitter Emily Hartong put down 13 kills and senior libero Ali Longo added 18 digs and three aces as No. 13 Hawaii snapped a two-match losing skid with a 25-22, 25-16, 25-23 sweep of UC Irvine in a Big West volleyball match Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Freshman hitter Nikki Taylor and sophomore middle Jade Vorster each had added seven kills for the Rainbow Wahine (17-4, 6-3) who ran their series record against the Anteaters to 30-0

Arielle Manz led UCI (11-12, 2-7).

Hawaii hosts Long Beach State (12-9, 5-3) in a 7 p.m. Saturday.

Longo's 7-0 serving run in Set 1 was key for the Wahine, who trailed late at 21-16. A service error by UCI -- one of 14 on the night - closed the gap to 21-17.

Longo served for seven straight, a spurt that included two aces, as UH took set point at 24-21.

One sideout later, Vorster ended it.

Hawaii dominated Set 2 but struggled to close out the match. Set 3 was tied at eight times, the last at 23-23.

Hartong put down her final kill and Tayler Higgins ended it with the ninth Wahine ace.

Wow! They looked terrible. The usual Hartong, Uiato and Longo did their part. The others need to step up.

Not the most dominant but effective. LBSU won't be as error prone tonight, so Wahine will need to up their game or they may struggle. Go Wahine!
