Police hold man in alleged theft of car from driver who gave him a ride

Police arrested a 47-year-old Waianae man Saturday morning after he allegedly stole a car from someone who had given him a ride.

According to police, the 27-year-old male driver left the car with the keys still in the ignition. The suspect allegedly moved into the driver's seat and drove away.

The suspect was located nearby and arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
