Victim of Maui shooting 'uncooperative' with police

Maui police are investigating a shooting, but said the victim is not cooperating with officers.

Police responded to a report of a man shot on Old Mokulele Highway and South Kihei Road at 5:09 p.m.

Officers located the victim, who confirmed that he had been shot, but was "uncooperative with police."

No weapon was found at the scene and the victim was taken to Maui Community Medical Center for treatment.

Then he MAY be convicted and serve minimal, if any, time in prison. Scores of offenders who have rap sheets as long as your arm attest to the sad fact that the threat of incarceration is no deterrent for repeat offenders. Better for this guy to extract street justice than to allow our system to come to a pretty predictable conclusion. I don't condone it but that is the sad reality.
