Honolulu firefighters and paramedics responded to an emergency call involving an apparent hard landing of a small "tow" plane at Dillingham Airfield about 1:15 p.m. today.

There were no serious injuries. A man in his 50s who appears to have been the pilot was treated by paramedics at the scene for minor cuts, but refused to go to the hospital, said Shayne Enright, a spokeswoman for the city Department of Emergency Services.

The man, the only occupant, was able to self-extricate, Enright said.

State Department of Transportation spokeswoman Caroline Sluyter confirmed that there was an incident involving a Cessna aircraft.
