Hawaiian Airlines continued its reign as the most punctual U.S. carrier as 95.5 percent of its flights arrived on time in September.

That easily beat the 83.8 percent national average from 16 carriers, according to the Air Travel Consumer Report released today by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The airline was second for fewest flight cancellations  at 0.1 percent, representing four cancellations out of 5,831 total flights.

In other categories, Hawaiian was third for passengers involuntarily denied boarding with 0.08 people per 10,000 passengers; and eighth for both fewest mishandled baggage reports with 2.43 reports per 1,000 passengers, and consumer complaints with 0.77 per 100,000 passengers.
