Kauai man identified as victim in motorcycle crash

Kauai police have identified the man who died when his motorcycle apparently veered off a road in Koloa on Wednesday as Byron Hahn-Morin, 21 of Waimea.

According to a preliminary police investigation, Hahn-Morin was traveling west on Koloa Road, just west of the Omao Road junction when he apparently went off the roadway at a sharp curve.

Police were called to the scene at 3:28 p.m. Hahn-Morin was pronounced dead at Wilcox Hospital.

The crash is under  investigation.

Koloa Road was closed in both directions for about two hours and traffic was directed onto Omao and Maluhia roads before reopening shortly before 6 p.m.
