Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility escapee recaptured in Waianae

An 18-year-old Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility escapee was recaptured Monday night after the vehicle he was driving hit a police car in Waianae.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree escape, second-degree robbery, driving without a license, and vehicle property damage.

Police said the teen was arrested at about 11 p.m., after hitting a police car and a pole.
