Driver in serious condition after car hits pole

A 57-year-old man was in serious condition Saturday after his car struck a telephone pole.

The incident happened at 2160 Pauoa Road in Nuuanu at 2:20 a.m.

According to an EMS report, the man's car appeared to have been traveling at a high rate of speed before it hit the pole.
