No. 12 Hawaii celebrated senior night in the best way possible: with a sweep of Cal State Northridge in a Big West volleyball match at the Stan Sheriff Center Saturday night.

The Rainbow Wahine (22-4, 11-3) rode the arms of two underclassmen outside hitters — freshman Nikki Taylor (16 kills) and sophomore Tai Manu-Olevao (11 kills) for most of the night when  defeating the Matadors (22-6, 12-3) 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 in the final regular-season home match.

A crowd of 8,005 (9,458 tickets) watched as Hawaii won for the 19th time in 20 senior nights at the Stan Sheriff Center dating back to 1994. The match lasted 96 minutes.

Junior middle Kalei Adolpho added nine kills. Senior hitter Emily Hartong, limited to one kill in Set 1, finished with eight as well as 10 digs.

Senior libero Ali Longo had 13 of the Wahine’s 46 digs. Sophomore middle Jade Vorster was in on four of the team’s 10 blocks.

Natalie Allen led the Matadors with a double-double (11 kills, 10 digs). Libero Kelcie Radazzo finished with a match-high 21 digs.

CSUN was seeking to become the first school since Long Beach State in 1993 to sweep the season series with Hawaii.

The Wahine finish out the conference season on the road with matches at UC Riverside Friday and Cal State Fullerton Saturday. The NCAA selection show is Sunday, Dec. 1.
