Another person has stepped forward to accuse Bishop Joseph Ferrario of sexual abuse.

Troy Kealani Franks filed a lawsuit in state Circuit Court on Friday against the Roman Catholic Church in Hawaii, accusing the diocese of covering up Ferrario’s history of sexually abusing young boys and failing to warn and protect others from him.

Ferrario died in 2003 and is not named as a plaintiff.

Franks claims in his lawsuit that Ferrario sexually abused him from 1975 to 1978 when Ferrario was a priest and teacher at St. Anthony of Padua Church and school in Kailua and when Franks was 7 to 10 years old.

The diocese declined comment on Franks’ lawsuit.

Mark Pinkosh, 49, filed a lawsuit against the Hawaii Diocese last June accusing Ferrario and Rev. Joseph Henry of sexually abusing him when he was an 8- or 9-year-old altar boy at St. Anthony.

Henry has also died.
