Stay away from Thailand. Nice hotels, smiley folks, smelly streets, heavy smoggy traffic, eateries that would NOT pass Hawaii inspectors, scams everywhere, and Suvarnahbhumi Airport is the WORST airport in the world for baggage theft. Went here twice in the last 12 months and had my bags invaded with things stolen FOUR times. That's right. Both arrivals and both departures. Might try leaving a can of peanuts in each bag for those shameless TSA, Customs, and baggage boys. Oh yeah, you might get killed and the cops won't care. Google Thailand Scams and read in awe.

I bet the management and owners of the Grand Wailea and Ritz-Carlton Kapalua are squirming... and they ought to be.
