A 36-year-old man stole a tow truck briefly Saturday afternoon because his car was about to be towed, police said.

According to police documents, a tow truck operator attempted to tow the man's vehicle, which was parked on private property, in the Waikiki area around 3:15 p.m.

The man then harassed the tow truck driver and entered the unattended truck, driving it across the street, police said. He was arrested around 3:45 p.m. on suspicion of unauthorized control of a motor vehicle.

Interesting that the tow truck driver?s truck was moved without the man?s permission. What?s up with that?

At least he didn't drive it onto Waikiki Beach like that other guy who went for a joyride in a piece of construction equipment.

Good idea. Now instead of only a ticket and a tow charge, he'll be charged with a felony.

Tow truck companies are full of criminals anyway.....plus many of their "tows" are unwarranted.
