Neighbor alerts police to man breaking into car in Mililani

A 24-year-old man who allegedly broke into a car parked in a Mililani Mauka home garage Monday was caught after a neighbor reported seeing a man inside the car.

Police said the man had allegedly searched inside the car belonging to a 42-year-old woman at about 3:43 a.m. Monday and had allegedly stolen several items from within the vehicle.

Responding officers found the suspect hiding in the area and arrested him at 4:20 a.m. on suspicion of first-degree robbery, first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and two counts of first-degree criminal trespassing.
