Director selected for Hawaii climate change center

By Associated Press

POSTED:

The first permanent director of the U.S. Department of the Interior's Pacific Islands Climate Science Center has been selected.

The U.S. Geological Survey announced last week that David Helweg will be the director of the center, whose headquarters are at the University of Hawaii's Manoa campus.

The USGS-managed center provides access to the best science available on climate change and other landscape-scale stressors on the nation's natural and cultural resources.

It's one of eight regional centers.

The USGS says that climate change challenges for Pacific island communities include freshwater resources, coral reef health and invasive species.

Helweg was previously deputy director of the USGS Pacific Island Ecosystems Research Center.

And this person will get paid to do.........................? Climate change advocates are in a no lose situation. If nothing happens, they can claim that it's due to their policies. If something does happen, they won't see it in their lifetime. Weren't the polar ice caps suppose to be gone by 2013?

Exactly; plus with a complicit press anything you say in support of climate change will never get challenged, proving the Marxist rule that "a lie said loud enough and often enough eventually becomes truth".

Climate change - the biggest scam in human history.

Does Helweg know anything about climate? Is he a climatologist or meteorologist? Or is this another inbred hiring decision of a person designed to spend our money as fast as possible?

What do have to know about an issue that doesn't exist. You just have to have a great imagination and no conscience for the lies you have to spew out to keep the money rolling in.

Total agreement with bsbsbs. However, the biggest scam locally is the rail project.

That's why the wackos changed the term from global warming to global climate change; can't be pinned down to real data with that term. Global climate change is mother earth at work since the big bang; not man made and definitely not man fixable. One volcano does mores than man ever could do to the climate and there are 1,500 active volcanoes world-wide.
