Obamas back in Kailua after North Shore barbeque

President Barack Obama and his family are back at their Kailua vacation rental after spending Saturday afternoon on the North Shore at childhood friend Bobby Titcomb's annual holiday barbecue.

The Obamas regularly visit Titcomb's beachside house near Waialua for a barbecue during their Hawaii vacations.

The president's motorcade took H-2 freeway, past Schofield Barracks to get to the North Shore after leaving Kailua just after noon today. They left Titcomb's house at 7:33 p.m. and arrived back in Kailua at 8:33 p.m.

A handful of protesters greeted the president when he went to Marine Corps Base Hawaii for his usual morning workout.

Their signs addressed a range of topics from Gaza to Guantanamo.

The president spent about 90 minutes this morning at the gym, returning to his Kailua vacation home at 9:38 a.m.

Late Friday night, the president received an update from his health care team on the implementation of his signature federal health care overhaul, the White House said.

The president said officials should prioritize consumer flexibility and minimizing disruptions for people switching plans, the White House said.

You don't think the daily CNN blasts every half an hour with Waikiki in the background is worth $300K? Or the ESPN shots while he was in the Stanley? And we haven't even seen the obligatory Shave Ice shot yet. Get real. Or get serious, Serious.

Good for the First Family. Wonder if this Titcomb is any relation to Margaaret Titcomb, librarian at the Bishop Museum for years -- I had the privilege of meeting her years ago...

I certainly hope not - she was a well respected member of our community. The Titcomb in this article was the guy arrested by the cops for soliciting a hooker near the down town area - according to the SA.

The do nothing alternative would have been the best alternative as we would have kept flexibility and minimized disruptions. The high cost of insurance stems in part from frivolous lawsuits brought on from patients against the Medical profession. We have private health insurance, we have Medicare for the elderly and disabled and we have Medicaid for the poor. All to cover everyone that needs coverage. All of the plans available from pre-Obama were "good enough", in fact, exceptional to do the job. Why are there the 15% that at anytime that are not health care insured? It's the same story: same as a percentage of drivers who are uninsured. We cannot get 100% coverage for drivers, we cannot get 100% coverage for ALL Americans. I hope ObamaCare, was not solely aimed at a certain group of people, if u know what i mean? My name is Joe Biden, and please listen to me Barry !!!
