Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon on Kauai when the motorcycle they were riding rear-ended a Nissan sedan.

The crash took place about 2:40 p.m. on Kuhio Highway near the Hokualele junction in Anahola, according to a Kauai Police Department release. Both motorcycle riders -- a 51-year-old man and his 41-year-old passenger -- were transported to Wilcox Hospital with "serious injuries," the release stated.  Two people in the Nissan, a man and a woman, were uninjured.

The highway was closed in both directions at 5 p.m. so police could investigate the crash, and all lanes were reopened at 5:45 p.m., the release stated.

Must have propelled both passenger and driver over the Nissan or smack into it. Soft tissue against metal or fibre material, you lose.
