The Honolulu Medical Examiner's Office has identified the 42-year-old Waipahu man who died of apparent stab wounds Sunday night as Marlo G. Basuel.

In a release issued by the office, the cause of death is described as "exsanguination (loss of blood) due to stab wounds of the torso."

Paramedics took Basuel from a home on the 94-000 block of Kahaunani Street home at 9:48 p.m. to a hospital in "extremely critical condition." Basuel died at the hospital.

Honolulu homicide detectives have started a murder investigation. On Monday police interviewed a male suspect, but no arrests have been made.

Maybe substance abuse, gambling, infidelity, divorce, child custodial disagreements, failure to pay rent, eviction notice. Maybe the guy kicked his dog, stole his beer or gave him stink eye. Thoughts?

All possible but intensified by an inflationary depression, brought on from the constant bubble fueling manipulation of interest rates by the Federal Reserve since 1987 via Greenspan and Bernacke. Notice there's not too much crime in high priced, high income earning neiborhoods? Poverty = Crime. When the bond bubble pops, head for the hills.

The Fed's QE bond buying of $85 billion a month, now $75 billion, for the last 4 years has done nothing to improve unemployment which if measured the same way as in 1992, taking into account the unemployed who aren't counted because they quit looiking for work, is higher than anytime since the great depression. The historically low interest rates for the last 30 years have fueled a mega casino in the form of Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, etc. which have created derivitives, with sometimes 100 to 1 leverage, LBOs with little equity, and a carry trade in the repo market where they make billions simply front running the Fed. In other words, the 1% have gotten absurdly richer at the expense of main street.

Maybe. Something even more astounding I found out today, is that in addition to the LIBOR, (London Interbank offered Rate) scandal of fixing the interest rates between banks; a proffessor from NYU has discovered a pattern, spanning 10 years, of the London Gold Fix. Turns out that 5 banks determine the spot price twice a day. Certain traders, ie Goldman Sachs, are allowed to listen in during the fix for about 15 minutes. The price is almost always manipulated down in large spike. This allows for collusion and manipulation by the insiders who use derivitives to make billions at the expense of others.

Can happen anywhere, when a dispute can't be settled by words or by distance, that is, for one of the parties distancing themselves from the other party, before the entire incident boils over. This incident happened at a specific home, so one of the people living there would know the scoops.
