Puna man charged with promoting marijuana

Hawaii County authorities charged a 45-year-old Puna man and released another man this weekend after police discovered 151 marijuana plants and processed marijuana and drug paraphernalia at a Hawaiian Acres subdivision home.

Vice officers served a search warrant Friday at a home on Road 1.

Police arrested Raymond Eastridge, 45, and another 45-year-old resident at the house. 

After conferring with prosecutors, Eastridge was charged with second-degree promoting marijuana, second-degree promoting a detrimental drug, third-degree promoting a detrimental drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Police released the other man without charges.

Eastridge’s bail was set at $7,250.
