Problems with HPD's 911 system fixed

The Honolulu Police Department is now taking emergency and nonemergency calls on its 911 system.

Because of technical problems, HPD had to switch to its backup system and asked the public to call for emergencies only about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, an HPD spokeswoman said. The system was restored about 9 p.m.
