    Suspect in bank robbery in Kapaa this afternoon.

Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank in Kapaa, Kauai, on Wednesday.

The suspect walked into the Bank of Hawaii on Kuhio Highway shortly before 1 p.m. , passed a note to a teller stating he had a gun, and demanded money. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, Kauai police said.

The man is described as a Caucasian male in his 30s, about 5-feet-1-inches tall. He was wearing a dark-colored pullover sweatshirt with a large white emblem on the front, blue jeans, slippers, and a dark baseball cap, police said. 

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Ken Cummings at 241-1686, or Kauai Police Department dispatch at 241-1711. Anonymous tipsters can call CrimeStoppers at 241-1887.
