Rains, gusty winds, high surf and snow on Hawaii island summits are continuing this morning.
The summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa are under winter storm warning. Temperatures are below freezing and forecasters say up to six inches of snow could accumulate. (click here to see time lapse animation of snow on Mauna Kea)
Maui is under flood advisory until 2 p.m.
Radar showed heavy rain nearNahiku at 10:36 a.m. Other locations in the advisory include Kahana Beach Park, Wailuku, Waikapu, Waihee, Haiku, Waiehu, Puunene, Pukalani, Paia, Spreckelsville, Pauwela, Napili, Kapalua,Kahakuloa, Kaanapali, Hookipa Beach Park, Honolua, Honokowai and Honokohau.
Honolulu's forecast calls for sunny weather after some morning showers, with isolated showers possible this afternoon and evening.
A high surf advisory remains in effect for north shores of Oahu, Kauai County, Maui, Molokai and the Big Island until 6 a.m. Thursday. Surf is expected to be 14 to 18 feet today, lowering to 10 to 15 feet tonight.
Forecasters say the gusty winds which blew down trees Tuesday on Oahu will continue today, but will start to weaken.
Lighter winds are expected Thursday.
Winds will turn southerly by Friday and could become briefly gusty again as another cold front approaches from the northwest.
The storm system could bring more rains over the weekend.
