Fire rescue specialists assisted two hikers stranded at a waterfall in the Ahuimanu area about 3 p.m. today.

The 19-year-old men had hiked up to a waterfall above Temple Valley and got stuck, unable to go up or down, said fire Capt. Terry Seelig.

Despite the poor weather, including low clouds and rain, a fire helicopter managed to pick them off the mountain. The hikers were transported one at a time using a sling suspended from the helicopter. They were uninjured and flown to the Ahuimanu Neighborhood Park at 5:15 p.m.
