Target Corp. announced Thursday that it will open its first Maui store in Kahului next year.

The retailer didn't specify an exact opening date in March 2015.

The store on Hookele Street will be part of the Puunene Shopping Center, measuring about 140,000 square feet.

It will offer fresh produce, packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods, as well as a Starbucks and a Target Pharmacy.

The Maui location will employ roughly 200 workers. Target will hold job fairs about two months before opening.

Candidates may apply online at Target.com/careers or at in-store kiosks. The Minneapolis-based retail giant has 1,921 stores in the United States and Canada.
