Skies clearing, but rain could still fall on Punahou Carnival

By Star-Advertiser staff

LAST UPDATED: 12:49 a.m. HST, Feb 08, 2014

Skies are clearing over Oahu as trade winds begin to return, but there's still a chance of scattered showers over the Punahou Carnival Saturday.

The National Weather Service says we can expect partly to mostly sunny skies through the weekend with scattered showers and trade winds of 10 to 15 mph.

There's a greater chance of rain in the windward and mauka areas, where mostly cloudy skies could continue.

Another weather system approaching the islands from the northwest may bring Kona weather back Sunday or Monday, when southeast winds should bring muggy conditions, vog and more showers.

HPD needs to do something about the cars all illegally parked along Punahou and Wilder in the morning and then again in the afternoon. This creates a traffic nightmare, and more importantly a safety hazard. Some one will get hurt; just a matter of time.
