Diamond Head Road is reopened after landslide

By Star-Advertiser staff

LAST UPDATED: 04:36 a.m. HST, Feb 12, 2014

The Waikiki-side of Diamond Head Road was reopened Tuesday night after Honolulu police closed it following a rockslide in the area.

The incident occurred at the 3100 block, between Coconut Avenue and the Diamond Head Lighthouse, about 1:40 p.m., an HPD Dispatch supervisor said. It does not appear anyone was hurt.

The road was contra-flowed for a time, but was shut down completely at about 3:30 to allow a crew to clear the debris. It is unclear when it will be reopened.
